Peace-and-Quiet Appetizers

AppetizersThese gentle 15-30 minute experiential activities will help you restore a sense of calm to the chaos. Choose from relaxation breathing, guided imagery, or structured exercises in spiritual wellness. “Peace and Quiet appetizers” are a great way to begin (or end) your next staff meeting.

Well-Done Entrees

Well-Done EntreesThe meat and potatoes of Kailo-to-Go mini-breaks. These sessions vary in length and focus on a wide variety of wellness topics that are suitable for inservices, staff meetings, lunch ‘n’ learns, etc.

  1. Bedtime Snack” – Our fast-paced, over-achieving culture allows little time for sleep. Learn helpful strategies for getting more quality and quantity pillow time for enhanced physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. 30 minutes.
  2. Optimistic Pizza” – Identify your tendency toward optimism versus pessimism and how you can train yourself to be more optimistic about life, work, and relationships. 50 minutes.
  3. Thin Ice” – Explore the myths surrounding dieting, exercise, weight, and health. Learn techniques for developing a more positive body image. 50 minutes.
  4. Beyond Bootstraps” – “You’ll be fine. You just need to pull yourself up by your bootstraps.” We’ve all heard them. We’ve all said them. But well-intentioned as they might seem, bootstrap theories - those feel-good phrases and get-a-grip attitude that sometimes accompanies them – are an ineffective strategy in dealing with depression. Learn how to really help when someone you know is depressed in this very important Kailo-to-Go selection. 50 minutes.
  5. Aromatherapy” – Scents or Nonsense? Learn about the benefits of aromatherapy and how one Mercy nursing unit has used it to the delight of patients and staff alike. 30 minutes.
  6. One in Four” – One in four women in the U.S. will experience domestic violence in her lifetime. Learn how to identify what domestic violence is, what to do if you or someone you know is in a violent relationship, and what resources are available to help. 50 minutes.
  7. Our Daily Breath” – Breathe in…breathe out…. Take a relaxing time out and experience the physical, mental and spiritual benefits of paying more attention to your breathing. 30 minutes.
  8. So You’re Not June Cleaver – It’s OK!” – Twelve energizing and affirming steps to reinforcing the truly terrific in each of us. 30 minutes.

  1. The Love Connection – How Relationships Affect Your Health – Yummy, yummy, yummy – you’ll have love in your tummy when you hear how important social connectedness is to your health. Whether it’s a primary partner, a family tie, a group affiliation, or church membership – learn how and why relationships are so good for you! (Cookies served with this session instead of breakfast or lunch).
  2. Cookies and Quilts – Learn the history of quilting and enjoy making your very own quilt block in this unique Kailo to Go in-service that uses the art of quilting as a metaphor for exploring the themes of self-care, creativity, spirituality, community and service. (Cookies served with this session, instead of breakfast or lunch).

Kailo's "Games to Grow By" is a series of 30-minute fun-infused sessions designed to build trust and cooperation plus improve problem-solving and communication skills among your work team.

Using simple games and puzzles, you'll discover valuable information about yourself and your co-workers as you attempt to complete a task, solve a brainteaser, or reach a goal. The activities are non-competative, creative, and require little-to-no physical exertion.
